With our social isolation in full swing, you might be wanting to change your lifestyle habits. Honestly, this is the perfect time to start your healthy lifestyle if you don’t have much going on!
Keep in mind that our lives are determined by our behavior and our behavior is set in our daily routines and habits. I always tell people to never think of this as a “diet.” This is a lifestyle for your body and mind.
HOW TO BEGIN YOUR HEALTHY LIFESTYLE RIGHT NOW
First things first, you need to ask yourself these questions:
Why do I want to get healthy?
Where do I want to see myself in 6 months? In one year?
Narrow Your Focus
Think to yourself why you want to start your healthy lifestyle and why you are here on this post! Do you want better digestion, better immune system, just want to eat healthy?
Pay Attention to Nourishing Your Body
It might sound funny, but before you put food into your mouth ask yourself, “Body does this nourish you?” Now, don’t get me wrong, I like a nice dessert or treat every now and then. But if you find yourself eating more unhealthy foods than not then you might want to reevaluate. Fill your plate with good carbs, fats, and proteins.
Whenever you feel like you want a treat or that slice of bread, eat it but in moderation! Remember this is a lifestyle not a diet!
Also a great tip that I’ve learned throughout the years is to stick to the outside of the grocery store whenever you go shopping. You will find that all of the natural foods are usually on the outside perimeters.

Meal Plan
No matter if you are working from home or not. Once you get hungry you won’t be bothered to make a whole healthy meal. Meal prepping will help with temptations!
Stocking Your Pantry and Fridge With Healthy Items
If you don’t have bad food, you can’t eat it unless you go out of your way to get it.
Tell the People Around You Like Your Friends/Family
We’ve all been there. You get asked to go to a dinner party and you’ve been so proud of yourself eating healthy and then all they have at the dinner are unhealthy foods! Literally the worst. Get around this by straight up telling your friends/family you aren’t interested in unhealthy food or going out for a drink.
Find Exercises You Like or a Program You Like
For me, I’m way more motivated to workout if I like the actual workout. I remember this time when I bought a workout program and each workout was an hour to an hour and a half straight. Ain’t nobody got time for that!
Instead I like workout programs where the workouts and quick and effective. It makes a huge difference in your motivation!

Change Your Thoughts
I’m not kidding, if you learn to change your mindset it will change your whole outlook. If you wake up in the morning and instantly think negative thoughts they will carry on throughout the whole day, and vice versa.
Food is meant to nourish our bodies, it’s not the enemy.
Find Healthy Alternatives
My biggest sweet tooth comes after dinner. I love dessert and I definitely don’t think I need to sacrifice that. Instead of having the most unhealthy ice cream you can get, I switch that out and buy healthier stuff.
Sleep, Sleep, Sleep
Oh man, do I love my sleep. I swear it’s the most important thing in your fitness lifestyle. Don’t neglect it!
Relieve Stress As Much As You Can
Stress isn’t good for anything! As a female, it messes up your hormones as well.
The last takeaway of this article is that time will pass anyway, so make it count! What are your fitness goals?
Meal planning is key! Having things ready to go is so much easier than prepping stuff the day of. Great post girl!
